Torpys Shoe & Boot Emporium was established in 1887 and is now 124 years old, the oldest surviving business in Broken Hill.
The Nash family, which owned a shoe store already in Broken Hill, purchased Torpys Shoe Store in 1983 and quickly began changing the concept of the store to a sports clothing store. Over the pursuing twenty plus years, Torpys has continued to expand its sporting departments and now is the leading supplier of Asic, Nike & Adidas in the Far West of NSW.
With relationships with all the major footwear and sporting suppliers Torpys continues to service the needs of sporting clubs throughout the Far West. Torpys Owners, Alan & Peter Nash, currently employ 5 full time and 5 part time staff with customer service the key priority for ongoing success.
